Eloise Allen

Graduate of Karen’s program

My name is Eloise and I am dyslexic. But I have an amazing friend named Karen who tutored me and taught me all kinds of helpful things...and her program has changed my life.

Let me start by saying that this program is definitely the hardest thing I’ve ever done. It took me five years to complete, and I gave up a lot of things and a lot of time to do this.

But here’s the thing: I know now how smart I am. I understand how words work, and I use Karen’s spelling tricks all the time. Sometimes, I’ll be sitting in class and I’ll sing her songs. (I sing them in my head, not out loud!)  I’ll realize, “I’m using the floss rule!” or one of the many other rules.

If you do this program, it will make you feel smart too.

I think that they should teach Karen's program in school, so that everybody can learn why words are the way they are. That way, everybody could feel smart, like I do now! That’s why I worked very hard to complete the whole program.

To be honest, when I first started tutoring, I didn’t want to do it. It was hard and I was upset that I was going to have to do all this extra work. But Karen became a really good friend to me, and I actually WANTED to hang out with her! She’s very encouraging and fun. She knows that no one is perfect, and she encouraged me to feel like, “I can do this!”

If you do Karen's program, there might be days when you feel like can’t do this. But if I could do it, so can you!

Trust me...it will be WORTH it.
