Kacie Williams
Graduate of Karen’s program

When I first started taking lessons with Karen, I was scared because I didn't know what
to expect.

But then I felt better because there were lots of things I liked.

There were helpful workbooks with pages that were neat and organized. We used
colorful pens and highlighters to mark up the workbook, which made things stick in my
brain!

We also did something called "The Question of the Day," which helped me to
remember what I was learning. We kept track of how many words I spelled correctly in
my lessons, and the total was 7,833!

I liked crossing off the boxes on the progress chart and finishing all the different levels. I
also liked the games, the presents, and the dance breaks!

I learned a lot of words from other languages like Greek and Latin. Now, if my sister
asks me a question about stuff like Latin roots, I can tell her!

Some of the levels got hard and I got scared again, because I wasn't sure if I could do it. But
Karen was there to help, and it got easier and I did it!

Reading was hard for me at first, but now I know how to pause for punctuation marks, and I
can read with a LOT of expression. Karen says that I read her stories like a real actress!
